Take an old bunch of wired plastic stems devoid of silk flowers and leaves and turn it into something colorful and fun.
A bouquet of aqua and red polka-dotted yo-yo posies surrounded in a sea of lime green polka-dotted leaves make a playful summer bouquet.
The posies and leaves have a small channel in their centers to allow them to be slipped over the tips of each of the stems. They can easily be replaced with other color choices. Perhaps the bouquet would look cute all in red for Valentines Day or Christmas. Maybe pastels for Easter. I love that I have the option to change it at will.
As you all know, I was supposed to be working at making craft fair goodies but that went by the wayside real fast. I felt more like playing instead. In the process, I did save one more useless piece of plastic and wire from the landfill. *smile* I promise myself that I'll do better next week.
I hope you all have a fabulous and productive weekend!
Aloha!

Lettie,
That's a great idea and so cheerful! I wonder if one of your folded fabric hexagons could be used for a flower too -- just for a little different look for fun!
You really do make some amazing stuff -- and those flowers are a great way of making use of those plastic stems rather than tossing them out!
What a happy little bouquet! If I had that idea in my head, I wouldn't have resisted it, either!
i really don't like flowers in my house but these flowers i don't mind . You did a great job , like always .
How cute is that! I love it. It is funny because I always keep the silk flower stems. For some reason I can't throw them away. I just never knew what I might do with them, but now I do! Thanks.
Definitely a happy little bouquet ... the post came up on my bloglines and I knew it was yours as soon as I saw the picture - even before I saw the blog title, lol. It's just so YOU!!!
I'm working on a sewing machine cover today - if I can get my son to drive me to the fabric store for some Heat 'n Bond, I'm appliquing a kitty on it - and of course I can add some yoyos too, with some fun prints - wish me luck!
those are so cute!
could you do a tutorial on those gift tag yo yo's?
Did you put the fabric on the round gift tag or did they come like that, then add the yo yo?
Yes I play more then I should also. Now I know what to do with all my old silk flowers. Do you know what line of fabric you buy for the lovely Polka Dots? I can't seem to find any with that size dot and colors. I thought maybe I would try looking for websites.

Very clever. I always throw those things away. I never would have thought of this. :) Smart girl!
