Y'know, why is it that every time I have big plans to spend the weekend focused on something only to have it change abruptly and take a turn in a totally opposite direction. I'm talking about my plans to spend the weekend cutting and sewing. So many other things took precedence. I must have racked up 2-3 hours of cutting and sewing which is, er, uhm, a little bit short of an entire weekend.
Again, nothing new to show you except more piles of fabric so I'm diggin' deep into the prototype pile once again.
This facial tissue holder is the perfect size to tuck into your handbag. I love the idea of a curved opening and an overlapped edge. Something a little different than the standard tissue holder. I think I will need to explore this further as it has quite a bit of promise.
I hope you all have a fabulous day. I'm going to spend mine, you guessed it, in my sewing room.
Aloha!
I do like the look of that tissue holder. Sometimes mine come out curved even when I sew them straight...lol.
ReplyDeleteLettie - nice tissue holder - you always have such fun projects, and your fabrics are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSweetiepie - I've noticed that as well - I thought it was just me, LOL. I made a little wallhanging for my sister recently and despite what I thought were straight seams, the sides all have a definite curve to them ... eeeeeeeeeeeeep!
Hi..love your blog and I loved Hawaii when we were there in the late '70's.
ReplyDeleteBut on the cute tissue holder? I am finding it hard to find the pkgs of tissues to open in the center. They seem to all open on the end now. Have you found this to be the case?
Your bags are just wonderful. If you get a chance, check out my blog too.......hugs, Char
Oh, what a wonderful little tissue holder.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine made me a denim and bandana fabric tissue holder 6-7 years ago and I love it, but am having the same problem--finding tissues to go in it.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I love the fabric on this one and I would MAKE it work! lol
I've had the same kind of time challenge the last couple of days. So frustrating!
Lovin' the tissue holder! Will there be a pattern to follow? I sure hope so. What a talented woman you are!
ReplyDeleteI love the shape!
ReplyDeleteI sure would like to see a tutorial on this one!
Laura
Hi Sweetie, thanks for posting on my blog and for the compliments too...I just drool over your choices of colors as you know, I am a big fan of COLOR......Yes, I do remember those tissues and after I posted to you, I thought, *why not just take them out of the pkg* duhhh..lol OK..thanks anyways..
ReplyDeletehugs, Char
Hi, Lettie! I'm so glad you stopped by to visit.
ReplyDeleteI sure know what you mean about having plans for one thing, but then life gets in the way. Still, a few hours of sewing is wonderful! I was determined to do just that this weekend, and actually got quite a lot done. It would have been nice to actually finish something, but every seam sewn is a step closer.
Hi, I've been reading your blog for a few days and am just amazed at your creativity. Our family visited Hawaii four years ago and fell in love. Would you ever do a post about your craft shows/how you got into doing shows?
ReplyDeleteThanks for a beautiful spot on the web!
