T.G.I.F.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday and entered my giveaway. I'm sorry that I couldn't respond to each of you individually. I spent much of the day with my head on my pillow in a semi-unconscious state. Cough, cough, sneeze, cough....you get the picture. And the fever, oy vey! I awoke this morning to some really wonderful comments. It's amazing how intertwined our memories are. My heartfelt thank you for sharing them with me.

Drum roll please...I have finally completed one pincushion. Yes, you read that right, just ONE pincushion. I have absolutely no motivation to get this project done. Here's a photo of the pincushions in various stages of completion. Hopefully they will all end up looking like the black and red one in the front. One down, 56 more to go.

Here is a close-up which shows the beading that I have done. I love how it adds a little bit of interest to an otherwise mundane pincushion.

Have a fabulous weekend. See you all on Monday.

Aloha!

***Don't forget to enter my giveaway. If you are new to my blog, please refer to my post of April 8 for the rules.***

  1. I love the red and black pin cushion. It reminds me of the poppies that the VFW sells in memory of fallen or injured soldiers of war. I used to get them every year to hook on my purse of the button of my shirt. I dont seem to see people selling them in NY, like I do in Nebraska. Then again, they only do it during certain times of the year, like the week surrounding Memorial Day.

Anyway, Now that I am quilting. I need a nice big pin cushion. I'm going to look around for some directions. I feel inspired to make on for myself.

Glad you are feeling a little better. I woke up sneezing this morning. Allergies! Grrr, tree pollen...Grrr. Oh well, everything is starting to look lush and green, so its a good pay off.

  2. 56 more to go?!?

Whoa Lettie, that's ambition I tell you. I can't even get around to hemming the 3 jeans that I purchased over a month ago. And it's not like they're cheap-o's that I picked up on the fly..these are designer stuff. Just goes to show you how "lazy" I can get when the weather is a bit cold. I don't wear jeans when it cold, I wear sweatpants! LOL!

  3. Spring colds are the worst, I have one myself as well. It would be lovely to go outside and smell the mud and here the birds chirp but you'd rather hibernate like its the middle of winter.

56! I admire your ability to make that many of anything, I would get to bored and never get them done.

  5. That pincushion is so cute but 56 more? Now that the weekend is here, I know you'd feel better if the sun came out. It sure has been rainy and grey hasn't it? I'm not ill but I sure have NO motivation in this weather.

  6. Sorry to hear you are under the weather. You get more done than I do when I don't feel well. I probably would have just stayed in bed all day. I love you pin cushion also. I could use one like that myself.

Hope you feel better soon. Joyce in Iowa
