Woke up this morning to terrible weather and a terrible cold. My son and his girlfriend have been sick for a couple of weeks and finally hubby and I have succumbed. The islands are currently under a flash flood warning with rain expected through next week. This looks like it's going to be a very icky week(s).
For my new readers, please refer to yesterday's post for the rules to enter my giveaway. I will try and post as early as possible each day so that my international readers will have the same opportunity to enter the giveaway. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm going to try my best not to leave anyone out.
I'd like to show you a bookmark that I've been making for my craft fairs and plan to do so again this year. Notice in the photo all of the woven ribbon that is still waiting to be turned into bookmarks. The story of my life, I tell you. If there was an award for the person with the most incomplete projects, surely I would win.
The main part of the bookmark (the flower stem) is made from woven ribbon. I've attached a flower and leaf to each end. Simple, cute, effective.
Here is a look at it in action. I love how the flower and the leaf peek out from both sides of the book.
I hope you all have a truly fabulous day. Good luck in the giveaway, everyone.
Aloha!
I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling under the weather. I've spent my whole winter fighting a cold or feeding one, so I know where you are coming from. Sure spring is here, but I think someone forgot to tell Mother Nature because we have had a lot of cold, overcast days. I guess it means the flowers will be lovely once they arrive.
ReplyDeleteSppeaking of flowers, I love your book marker. What a cute idea. They sure look like they would keep your hands busy. I also have a room full of unfinished projects. I have found that I need to bee in the mood to do certain tasks. If I'm not in the mood, my work gets sloppy and I make mistakes.
Ugh! Lousy weather in the islands too huh? Yesterday, today, and possibly up until the weekend the weather forecast is rain, rain, rain. I was all set to transplant my seedlings but will hold off due to the lower temperatures again! I'm anxious for my bulbs to bloom, but they need a little cooperation from mother nature in order to look as pretty as your bookmarkers!
ReplyDeleteLettie - Thanks so much for the leaf instructions - you did a great job explaining the process. I could see that they were folded and slightly gathered but I never thought to use a square as the starting point. I really appreciate your being so helpful. I love your bookmark and am so glad I happened upon your blog. Anne from Texas
ReplyDeleteLettie - I just love your blog and all the crafty things you do with fabric. I will be checking back often. Joyce in Iowa
ReplyDeleteHope you don't have the crud that has the lingering cough. Arrrgggg! Drink lots of water to flush your lungs and symptoms won't be so severe or long lasting.
ReplyDeleteLove the bookmarks. The flower is adorable!
I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I love the bookmark and for sure I am not meeting the rules of your giveaway, as I am just getting caught up on your posts. But that is okay, I enjoy reading your posts anyway.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I hope Mouse is doing okay now. If you haven't checked out my newest post you can see a picture of my 2 cats. Rolo is my 20 pounder!
